You can configure Entourage for Macintosh to enable your Mac to connect to the IceMAIL service.  Entourage will take advantage of many of the features of Exchange, including the mail, calendar, and contacts functions.  You will also be able to view your company’s public folders.

1) Before you begin, you will need to locate your Mailbox Name (Entourage calls this a User ID).  This is not the same as your myname@mydomain.com email address.  Your alphanumeric user ID can be found in your IceMAIL administrative control panel under Exchange>Mailboxes.  Click the account link for the user that you are trying to identify.  The Mailbox Name/User ID is located in the “Mailbox Name” field. In the example below, the username is JohnSmith).  If you cannot locate your alphanumeric Mailbox Name, please contact IceMAIL support at support@iceweb.com or (703) 964-8000 and a technician will be able to provide this information for you.

2) Start Entourage.  If this is the first time you have run Entourage on your Mac, you may be greeted with a setup wizard.  If so, cancel the wizard.  Entourage will open.  Select Tools>Accounts to open the Accounts applet.




3) In the Accounts applet, select New>Exchange…


4) In the Account Setup Assistant, enter your email address, select the “My account is on an Exchange Server” checkbox, enter your alphanumeric user ID (the Mailbox Name identified in step 1 above), enter icemail for the domain, and enter your email password.  Click on the “Configure account manually” button.



5) In the Edit Account applet, you will need to fill in some additional information.  Enter IceMAIL for the Account name.  Put your full name in the Name field.  In the Exchange Server field, enter mail.icemail.com and check the box in front of “This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)”.  Click the “Advanced” tab.  Under Public folders server enter mail.icemail.com and check the box in front of “This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)”.  Click the “OK” button and close the Accounts applet.

6) You can now click the “Send & Receive” button to retrieve your email.  By default, Entourage is set up to check for new email every 10 minutes.
